VIEW AIR QUALITY HERE

GWSC will follow the Wenatchee school district policy in regards to air quality. We will continue to practice and play games if air quality is Good (GREEN), Moderate (YELLOW), or unhealthy for sensitive groups (ORANGE). All play will be CANCELLED if air quality is Unhealthy (RED). As always, every parent should make the best decision for their child. If there are children sensitive to air quality we ask all coaches to be respectful to each parents decision for their child.

If the air quality reads RED (Unhealthy) 2 hours prior to game time games (in the location of the game) will be canceled. This will prevent all parties from waiting around on pins and needles to see if the game is happening.
THUNDER AND LIGHTNING PROTOCOL

When thunder is heard or lightening is seen:
1.  Play is stopped.  Everyone off the field, go to a safe area
2.  Play can resume 30 min. after last thunder or lightening.
Obviously daylight is a consideration.  The game will be canceled if there would not be time to complete a game after a 30 min. wait.

The Wenatchee Soccer club would like to thank our coaches for your willingness to help train, mentor, and support kids in our community. It's your efforts that make the experience for kids, and their parents, good or bad. As we quickly approach games this week we still have some business to take care of.

The fields will not be available for use at Clovis Middle school on Friday October 19th,. No exceptions! If you would like to practice that night and have been using Clovis please relocate to a different field on that date.

Certificates of Insurance & Field Use Contracts
Every coach must now have on their person a signed contract by Wenatchee School District in order to conduct a training session on school grounds. I have made arrangements with the Athletic office to secure all Elementary School sites in the Wenatchee School District. All coaches are required to have a WSD Contract in your hand if approached by a WSD representative, otherwise they will be asked to leave the premises.

No matter how much experience you have as a player or coach, you can still discover better ways to improve each individual player's skill and technique and the overall play of your team. Visit our
Player Development page to find videos, books, and websites we recommend to help you become a better coach.

Disputes And Complaints
Unfortunately, every season there are disagreements regarding rules, calls (or lack of calls), other parents and/or coaches conduct or behavior. First and foremost, don't compound the problem by becoming part of the problem. Second, you are responsible for your parents. Under no circumstances are coaches, players, or parents to question a ref's call or be confrontational with an opposing coach or parent. If you know you lost your composure, please apologize to the referee, other coach, or parent. After the game please email wenatcheesoccer@gmail.com, so we can resolve the matter.

If you are up by 5 please be mindful and use the mercy rule by adding one player in (to essentially play short a player on the team that is ahead by 5).Then when you are back within 3 goals you can sub back out to make equal numbers of players on both teams on the field.

Please remember! 10 year olds and below - no heading. 11-12 year olds limited heading in training and heading allowed in games.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Annually to have our fields is a huge benefit to our kids please do the following for each game:

1. GWSC is responsible to pull the goals out and or put up the nets for our games vs Cashmere/Leavenworth and or other club Friendlies. Asking for help is good but dont expect the other club to take care of the goals.

2. Goals shall be taken back to the fence at Foothills and Lewis & Clark, and to the dirt backstop area at Walla Walla. This is required for mowing to happen for the PUD and the City. There are long cord locks at all locations so that goals can be locked in pairs togther to the fence. Please ensure this happens when goals are put away.

3. Please do not park cars on the grass and remind parents not to do so if you see it on your team.

4. Clean up your sideline after practices and or games.

5. For the small goals at Walla Walla, Foothills and Lewis & Clark we also have a lock box with sandbags. If windy please put one on the back of each goal. Please make sure to put the sandbags away in the box after the game.

6. Don't leave the nets and or goals out unless another GWSC team is present and playing (this is easy to tell as we all have the same style of uniform).

7. Please do email the club if nets have been vandalized and or are in need of repair.

8. Please do take the time if you see another goal other than yours to help bring it back to the fence line and lock up.

Fellow coaches and volunteers, a couple reminders on goals

1. We do not have an agreement with any other men's or youth club on leaving our goals and or nets for them to use.
2. Only leave your goal and or nets out if another GWSC/Rec youth club is playing.
3. please lock the blue box after using the nets and other equipment in the blue box.
