Are you aware of the most recent IFAB Law Changes?  

All 2019 Fall rosters have been sent via email.  If you have not received your roster please check your spam folder prior to emailing the club. 

Once you receive your team roster please contact each player/parent in a timely manner.

 We ask that you contact your players no later than August 20th to introduce yourself and set up your first practice.  This helps avoid calls from panicked parents who have not heard from their coach. 

Game scheduls will be posted on our schedules tab.  All game schedules are FINAL unless you have a emergency. If you have an emergency situation and need to change a game date/time please contact our club. 

Fall Gear pick up and return will be at OPS Gym (219 S. Wenatchee Avenue). 

 Gear pick up will be on these designated times only.  If you are unable to make the times provided please send a parent to pick-up your gear.

Tuesday 8/20 - 6am-12pm

Thursday 8/22 - 6am-12pm

Friday 8/23 - 6am-12pm

Uniforms should be ready for pick up sometime the week before Labor Day weekend

Photo pick up at end of season:   Photos can be picked up by each team's coach or a designated parent for that team. . They can be picked up from Parsons during normal business hours after we have notified you they are ready.

*PLEASE NOTE:  ONLY HEAD COACHES will receive a refund. Gear must be returned prior to the refund being issued and you  must have completed the US club courses required for coaches.

*****Refunds to head coaches will be processed after gear is returned. Method of reimbursement will be to the original method of payment...debit or credit card. *****

Reminders: As a reminder, Coaches are responsible to take the goals off the field if they have the final game.  All goals go against the fence at Foothills and in the dirt dug outs at Walla Walla.  Please check your schedules to see if you are the final game.

3.US CLUB BACKGROUND CHECK

Our club will provide you with a pre-paid code for these things.

Coach Education
There is a 2 hour coaching course just for coaches prior to the season starting. That will be Wednesday August 28, at Lewis & Clark Elementary from 6-8pm.

If anyone is interested in taking a 11v11 Diploma Course. United SC & OPS FC are co-hosting at the Apple Bowl August 20-21 from 6pm-9pm. Cost is $75 for the 6 hour course. Coaches that would like to go - please have them contact Mike Osborn at 509-670-7047 or OPS.MO13@gmail.com.

4 Ways Yelling at Referees is Hurting Our Children

How parents conduct themselves during the game is very important! Please review these things with your team parents and ask them to abide by these guidelines:

  1. I agree not to criticize the players, coaches or referees in front of other spectators and if I have a question or complaint I will either address the coach or GWSC board depending on what is appropriate.
  2. I understand and accept decisions of the game officials (including referees and coaches) on the field as being fair and called to the best ability of those officials.
  3. I agree not criticize an opposing team, its players, coaches, or fans by word or gesture.
  4. I agree to hold my child responsible for his/her sportsmanship and agree to never encourage unsportsmanlike conduct.
  5. I will refrain from using physical or verbal abuse or profane language at any GWSC game, practice or meeting.
  6. I will not do or say anything that will discredit, undermine, or bring a negative reputation to the team or GWSC Club.
  7. I agree not be in possession of and/or drinking alcoholic beverages or using any illegal substances during any soccer activity. By school district policy, smoking is not permitted in any activity around children.
  8. I agree that my responsibility as a parent is to encourage and be constructive to my child, coach, team and club.
  9. I will not attempt to coach my child or other players on the team during a practice or game unless given permission by the coach. This includes yelling out or giving technical coaching or advice while spectating on the sidelines.
